U.S. in the World: Talking Global Issues With Americans -- A Practical Guide

America is facing critical choices about who it is and wants to be in an increasingly interconnected world -- choices that will have a profound impact on Americans, on other peoples and countries, and on future generations. This guide pulls together facts and arguments and the most effective ways to put them across for advocates of pragmatic, principled, effective and collaborative U.S.


Space Weapons Messaging Resource

In response to the peace and security community’s interest in developing better messaging on priority issues, the Aspen Institute’s Global Interdependence Initiative (GII) led a collaborative effort to create a communications resource for efforts to keep space free of weapons, whether they be “killer satellites” intended to harm or destroy other satellites or weapons in space that are directed at targets on the Earth, (the so-called “Rods from God”).

In addition, this messaging strategy will help make the case against the use of ground-based weapons meant to destroy or damage satellites, and it may readily be adapted for use in discussing related issues like missile defense.

We hope this communications resource will inspire and inform your organization’s work on this issue. We invite groups to engage, adopt and adapt this guidance.
