Novel Fundraising Approaches

Via Britt Bravo, I learned about the Peace Primary in which a dozen peace and security organizations compete for donations over the next two months. Whoever receives the most votes (1 dollar=1 vote) gets an additional $100,000 from the Ploughshares fund.

Another unique approach is the Razoo's Speed Granting initiative (only viewable if you login to a Facebook account). These contests appear to revolve around one issue, and give users a chance to vote for one cause usually related to one non-profit. The winner gets a $1,000, and the recognition of the site's user base.
